About

Introduction:

Crackling Vinyl is a music blog based out of Dublin, Ireland. The site began when I was living in Melbourne, Australia back in January 2013, and the idea behind it is to share and promote the diverse range of music that I listen to, with the world at large.

The blog is always looking to uncover the latest up and coming bands and solo artists, as well as any independently minded labels or collectives.

I have been contributing to Irish based music and arts based site/magazine The Thin Air for the last 18 months, while I have also had my work published in the national Australian music site Tonedeaf since 2013.

    Hi Conor,

Great work on the blog! I have nominated you for a WordPress Family Award: threadsetter.wordpress.com/2013/10/24/we-are-wordpress-family-award
I totally understand if this is not your bag but its a great way to connect with those in the community and I hope you appreciate the nomination all the same.

    Keep up the postings!

      Heya Niamhy,

Wow thanks a million, it’s greatly appreciated 🙂 To be fair I wasn’t aware of it prior to seeing you had been nominated. How do I nominate you?

Is there a link to the site on wordpress as I can’t access the one in your mail.

Your site looks class too by the way, I’m planning to maybe make a few changes to mine over the weekend. I’m lucky to be contributing to a national oz site now, for live gigs – the downside is i have to wait 1 week after they publish a review before i can add it to my own blog – and for albums but I don’t wait a week for them!!
There’s also an Irish one that Im doing music reviews for so more free tunes!!

        Hey Conor,

Well deserved 😊 so you can tick step 1 off your list as you have just pinged me back by acknowledging your nomination!
Ok so the idea is that you can pick 10 blogs that you consider apart of your WordPress family. Oh not forgetting step 2: display the award. I think it’s more of a community based award. So you know there’s others out there supporting you and reading what you post.
Well done on the freelance stuff, I plan on getting a side gig like that too! Let me know if you need any help with the post 😉

I love your layout, and your content! I am forever learning how to hone this craft, and I feel like there is much I can learn from you. I never went to school for journalism, and the most technical I got was some high school newspaper formatting and anchoring, lol. Onward and upward! I look forward to following your feed!
